My Five Steps To An Organized Move

1. Sort and purge, why pay for storage or to move thins you don’t need

2. Get packing supplies from www.freecycle.org

People that recently moved often want to pass there boxes on to others rather than recycle or trash them.  I have also found that has weekly deliveries of coffee and the boxes are very sturdy and free for the asking!  Use suitcases to move non-fragile items. Suitcases and duffles can be stored within each other when you reach your destination…..

3.  Take measurements of new home to see what furniture will fit and what can be sold, donated or stored.

4.  Notify the following about your move and set up at your new home (keep a checklist as to who you have notified)

            Post office  www.usps.gov

            Electric company

            Water Company

            Sewer Company

            Garbage Company

            Cable Company

            Also:

Banks, magazines, newspapers, credit card companies, insurance companies

5.  Pack infrequently used items first

Be sure to clearly mark boxes as to room they are in and consider a short inventory list.
